Painting of the Month

Monday, June 1st, 2009

This painting is part of my clown series. Clowns continue to recur in my work. For me they are playful and yet have a comment on our value systems.
In this case he is cheerfully programming his own puppets witnessed by a bird and the moon. The box is a symbol of our modern life and has the potential to programme the clown himself.
As often in my faces one eye looks out one looks in, hence the difference in colours.
